SLIDS

SLIDS is a slide with nothing added to it. Strap, footbed and sole are a single printed body, no glue line, no midsole seam, no separate outsole, and the strap swells out of the platform instead of being fixed onto it.

The volume is deliberately generous. A slide this thick would be dead weight in moulded foam; printed, the mass is mostly air, so the shape can be as full as it wants without becoming heavy. That is the argument the whole object exists to make.

Rendered pale rather than in the studio's usual black, a slide is a summer object, and the light form makes the thickness read as soft instead of heavy. A 2025 footwear study, sibling to the studio's produced slides.
