FLUX

FLUX is a single shield that refuses to sit still. The lens runs unbroken from temple to temple, but instead of the straight cut of NIGHTWING it rises and dips through a long wave, high at the outer edges, pinched low at the bridge, then out again.

That curve is doing real work. It follows the line the brow actually makes rather than the line a rectangle would impose, so a shape this large stops reading as a mask and starts reading as a face. Gloss finishes the argument: the wave collects a highlight that travels as you turn, which is the only moment the object tells you it is one continuous surface.
